Previous V7s were ushered along by a 744cc motor, but this has made way for Guzzi’s 853cc unit also used in the V9 and V85 TT. It’s essentially the same air-cooled V-twin as before with two valves per cylinder, pushrods and a single throttle body with Siamesed inlet, but with a larger bore and longer stroke (84 x 77mm, rather than 80 x 74mm).

You know, when I think of 500cc I prefer them per cylinder. So my initial thoughts before I rode this were probably too small for me. But then as I pulled away, the nostalgia of the bike got me. This is a rebuild of the original bullet back in the 1950's. Now fully equipped with ABS and a fuel injected engine the reliability issues have been irradicated. As I rode this, I just couldn't stop smiling, its where it all began. You are embarking on a love affair when you straddle this saddle. It handles so god damn well, it really makes you wonder why we all strive for more CC when you can get so much out of less.
